Hygiene in the food industry has become a pillar that can be decisive for companies when it’s time to purchase one or the other equipment. The manufacturers of machinery must have it clear and move in the same direction as the industry, offering solutions that meet the hygienic and safety requirements that it demands.
One of the key issues for companies that use band saws to cut frozen meat and fish is the accumulation of sawdust in the cutting area, both in the machine and on the ground. This accumulation can be problematic at several levels:
- at a safety level - sawdust can be viscous and slippery
- at a hygienic level - accumulation in corners, grooves, etc.
- at the productive level - if a good extraction system is not available, stops must be scheduled to proceed with the removing operation
To keep the work area as clean as possible, Astech Food Machinery, in its efforts to continue innovating in the line of satisfying the customer and their needs, has developed an automatic sawdust extraction belt coupled to the same machine, for the automatic SRA band saw type. This conveyor belt allows the sawdust to be transported from the inside of the machine where the accumulation is usually carried out, to the outside where the removal can be carried out in plastic boxes, 200 liter trolleys or big boxes.
